Your operator profile (top right or click here) is where you show Brands and buyers of certificates what your waste management operation is: your capacity, the materials that you buy and process, your services, equipment, and company audit license and registration documents. Views will have to get your approval to view your documents, they are confidential.

  5. Create a Certificate
A Kolekt Certificate is based on the number of tonnes that you have processed and sold. Output, not input. We recommend that you create one certificate per month and per material type, if you handle different materials.

    • Sold tonnes: Add the tonnes sold for that month to the form. These tonnes should equal the totals of the uploaded invoices.

    • Sales Invoices or Receipts: Collect & scan your sales invoices or receipts (per month) for the sold tonnes.
You can upload Max 10 invoices. Or per Client make 1 PDF file with multiple invoices.
We recommend that you “black out” or censor the price and value information, keep the quantities (KGs and Tonnes) visible. You can do this with a marker pen on a copy of the invoice, then scan it. Or Scan and PDF all the invoices and edit the PDF document with a marker.

    • Buyer name (confidential). Do not type the full name of the buyer, use an acronym e.g. VES for Veolia Services so that you, Kolekt and the auditor know which buyer it is.

    • Invoice date should be the month of the Certificate being created.

    • Tonnes Purchased: Add the total tonnes purchased during the same month as the sales. The Total tonnes purchased is usually higher than tonnes sold, but with material in stock you can process and sell more than you had purchased that month.

    • Material (one or many). One material is a combination of Main material + post-consumer or post-industrial feedstock. For every Material (Paper, Glass, eWaste, Plastic, etc) you have to press [+] Add Material.

    • Losses:

    • Upload proof of purchase:

    • Certificate type

    • Asking Price

    • Notes for the Buyer

    • No Double counting

  6. ……

  1. Earn additional revenues per tonne

Your waste recovery service can earn more by selling Kolekt Certificates that prove that you have collected, sorted, processed and recycled waste. We help you verify, issue and sell your certificates via our Kolekt Exchange platform. These certificates are sold to consumer goods companies that need to meet Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) or voluntary targets. Certificate prices can vary from $50 to $1000 per tonne. Read more below.

  2. Better monitoring, better compliance
In order to issue a Kolekt waste recovery certificate your organisation needs to be able to trace materials coming in and going out, you will also need proof of sale and purchase of your outputs and inputs and have had your operation audited. These steps show that your organisation is ready, for environmental licenses, financing, partnerships and more.

  3. Connect with brands
The sale of your certificates on Kolekt Exchange will make your organisation visible for consumer goods companies that are interested in the waste management service that you offer.

What are
Kolekt Certificates?

A Kolekt Exchange Certificate (a KXC) is proof of waste recovery.

Types of Certificates.
A KXC is proof of sale or delivery of a specified number of tonnes of waste materials from or to:

  1. Collection & sorting

  2. Recycling (conversion of materials)

  3. Processing (cleaning, flaking, baling, co-processing, export)

  4. Disposal (in managed landfills)

  5. Reduction and reuse of waste

Documents of proof that you will need.
For a KXC Certificate you need the following:

  1. A sales invoice or receipt of delivery of X tonnes of recyclables or waste. One or many Kolekt App two-sided + face recognition transaction can also serve as proof of delivery.

  2. Proof of purchase of the feedstock. Either in receipts, or using a traceability tool like Kolekt APP.

  3. Basic company documents such as company registration, environmental license, possibly audit statements.

  4. An Audit statement that the above 3 documents are real. That the waste recovery service is real; and that the systems used to trace and weigh materials in and out are used consistently and functioning well. The audit needs to be done 1x per year, and may be done in a randomized way on 1%-10% of the invoices, receipts and purchase transactions.
